Christmas is nearly here,

Wow, not long now the renovations on the new shop of starting to look like we are heading in the right direction. Windows in, waiting for concrete to be poured. Fabrics arriving and oh so many cool christmas ornaments. I just love my little light up angels. They look so cute hanging from the tree, changing colours. Cant  wait now, children at school getting excited about Santa and all those great presents to come. Thanks to Karen and Nikki for hosting Christmas Party Evenings another one tonight. Its been great I hope everyone has enjoyed themselves.

Patchwork and Quilting Fabrics

Just arrived a selection of new fabrics from Riley Blake called Chevron, Kiwiana Prints, and a nice selection of designs called Somerset. These remind me of being slightly vintage antique looking in creams and pinks. Really nice fabrics. They would make stunning cushions, embellished with lace and buttons. Check out Lynette Anderson Design patterns.

Christmas Decorations, Santas, Reindeer, Angels and Fairies

Take a peek at my newest goodies ready for sale at my little store. Come and visit and see the variety of decorations, and gifts I have. I think these little girls look cute sitting on top of the dresser or even a mantle. Time to get thinking about Christmas gifts, as its not that far away.

FAQ

To prewash or not to prewash?

many people ask us about pre-washing our fabrics.  there is no easy answer to this, as to many it is a personal choice. we always recommend pre-washing, especially if the fabric is a dark or bright colour, or if it is a linen blend fabric. linen blends will have a different shrinkage to cotton.  if you are mixing fabric types in your quilt, definitely pre-wash, wash on a warm, short & gentle cycle, with a mild detergent.
